Our oldest cat`s name is Sinbad. He is 18 years old and a Seal Point Siamese. My husband named him and it just seems right for him.

I have had cats for over eleven years.  Most of mine are unadoptable because they either were or are feral.  However, when selecting a name I have to think about each name very carefully.  Often, I'll select something that matches my perception of my cat's personality.  Names I have chosen are: or were: Tabitha, Bambi, Buddy, Onyx, Ebaneizer, Bartholomew, Yosemite Sam, Bo-Jo, Cassinova, Romeo, Fuzzy and Butler.  Names of cats who were already named I have had are: Pedro, San-heim or Sewin (pagan for Halloween), Buddy, Bandit, Rascal, Bo, or Po.  Also, I have had several cats without names.  Like the previous post and I quote, ' I love cats'!  Well, I love them too!  I love them with all my heart and will always fight for their protection!  Especially if they're unadoptable by most people because they're feral!  I find it takes a lot of patience to work with a new cat.  Let the new member of the family take his or her time.  Just sit close to him or her.  Talk to him or her and give him or her a kitty treat.  Using a string or a long boot lace works well too.  Drag it behind you if you're indoors.  In no time at all your new arrival will pounce on it and you now have a new friend.  Then, visit your veterinarian and get the necessissities out of the way, and you are now in love.  Some of my cats sleep with me.  Almost forgot..., one feral cat I've had was Oreo.  He is all black.  I still see him sometimes.  I adopted him because he had a broken leg. Providing my home to him helped heal his leg.  He lived in my home with me for over a year and a half.  Today, is no longer mine.  He got out one day on his own and the first thing he did was to beat up the neighbor's feral cat.

I prefer keeping all my cats inside for their protection, and mine. Most of my cats are senior citizens ranging in age from 9 years to almost 15 years.

We just rescued a cat from the shelter over a week ago, his name was already Boots, still this name doesn't seem appropriate, but that's what they have been calling him, I really like the name Bo, because he is such a big and powerful cat.  I just want him to know his name. And Bo does seem almost right.  He is a 11.7 lb Siamese.

My 17-year old cat, who passed early last year, had really big green eyes.  They looked especially big when she was a kitten, like big green buttons glued to her head.  So I named her "Buttons."

I rescued another cat in October.  At the shelter, they were calling him "Gatsby" but that didn't seem to fit him too well.  A few days after I brought him home, the name "Gabriel" kind of popped into my head.  It seemed to fit him much better and he started responding to the new name in just a couple of days.  He really is an angel, but at times I think I  should have named him after the "bad" angel--****.  He can be quite onery.

For some reason the name of the bad angel is blanked out--pronounced Lucy Fur.
